CAMDEN, Maine — Local voters may have contested races when they go to the polls in June.
Marc Ratner has returned nomination papers to seek a single three-year seat on the Select Board now held by Martin Cates. Katherine Young also has taken out papers but not yet returned them.
Incumbent Cates, who has served two consecutive terms on the board, said he has not yet decided whether to seek re-election. He said he would decide by mid-week.
The deadline for filing papers to get on the June 14 ballot is Friday. Candidates need the signatures of 25 registered voters to get on the ballot.
Peter Orne and M. Eileen Morelli have returned nomination papers to get on the June 14 ballot for two open seats on the School Administrative District 28/Five-Town Community School District boards.
Those seats are currently held by Tori Manzi and John Lewis.
Manzi and Rebecca Flanagan have taken out papers but not returned them as of Monday morning.
Incumbent Rick Rector has taken out papers for the personnel board.
