SEARSPORT, Maine — The town’s elementary school was closed for students Tuesday because of pipes that burst in the building, according to a statement posted on Regional School Unit 20’s Facebook page.

Elementary school staff are reporting to work as usual, the statement said, and all students and staff at the middle and high schools will have a normal school day Tuesday.

Buses were running as scheduled but not picking up elementary students.
