ROCKPORT, Maine — Residents will have a choice when they go to the polls next month.

Two candidates have turned in nomination papers to get on the June 14 ballot for a single available seat on the Select Board.

Incumbent Tracy Lee Murphy and challenger Brendan Riordan are vying for the three-year seat. Murphy has served two consecutive terms.

No one sought the seat to represent the community on the Five-Town Community School District and School Administrative District 28 Board. That seat is held by Gretchen Richards.

Also up for election are two three-year seats on the library committee. The seats are now held by Cate Monroe and Stephanie Kumble. Making the ballot are Kumble, former library director Ann Filley, William Frohlich, and Brooke Kehoe.

Paul Charbonneau is seeking a one-year seat on the library board.

The seats held by three budget committee members — Jan Rosenbaum, Sharon Stone and John Viehman — are up for a vote. Two people — Rosenbaum and Karl Buck Kehler — filed papers to be on the ballot for the posts.
