PORTLAND, Maine — Binghamton scored twice in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings on Wednesday night to post a 6-3 Eastern League baseball victory over the Portland Sea Dogs at Hadlock Field.
The game was called after seven innings because of rain.
Trailing 3-2, the Mets (13-10) scored four unanswered runs.
Portland (8-18) took an early 2-0 lead, but Binghamton tied it in the fifth. The hosts went back on top 3-2 on Cole Sturgeon’s RBI single in the fifth inning.
Reliever Nik Turley (0-2) surrendered four runs to take the loss. Ty Buttrey received no decision but was solid over five innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits while walking one and striking out two.
Mets starter Tyler Pill allowed three earned runs on seven hits in six innings, walking one and striking out four.
Jake Romanski finished 2-for-3 for the Sea Dogs, while Bryce Brentz doubled and scored twice. Aneury Tavarez notched an RBI.
The series concludes Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hadlock Field.
