BANGOR, Maine — The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Milford man on several charges Tuesday as the result of a routine traffic stop that evolved into a drug investigation.
Seth C. Hopkins, 25, was charged with possession of OxyContin, resisting arrest and destruction of evidence, the sheriff’s office said Thursday.
After Hopkins’ arrest, he was taken to Penobscot County Jail, where he was released on bail later in the day, a jail official said.
The prescription painkillers were allegedly found in Hopkins’ possession during the traffic stop. The additional charges were lodged after Hopkins reportedly attempted to destroy evidence and then attempted to flee on foot.
During the investigation, several thousand dollars in cash reportedly was seized.
