MANCHESTER, New Hampshire — The New Hampshire Fisher Cats bashed 13 hits en route to an 8-1 Eastern League baseball victory over the Sea Dogs on Tuesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
The Sea Dogs tied a season high by committing five errors in the game. New Hampshire scored an unearned run in the first on an RBI groundout by Jon Berti and never trailed after that. Ian Parmley added an RBI double in the fourth to make it 2-0.
The Sea Dogs scored their lone run of the game in the fourth. After a double by Wendell Rijo to lead off the frame, Tzu-Wei Lin delivered a double down the left field line to score Rijo.
New Hampshire added four more runs in the fifth, capped by a two-run homer by Rowdy Tellez, who finished a triple shy of the cycle. The Fisher Cats scored twice in the sixth to pad the lead at 8-1.
Portland’s Ty Buttrey (L, 0-5) allowed six runs (four earned) on seven hits, walking none and striking out three.
New Hampshire’s Jeremy Gabryszwski (W, 1-1) went six innings and allowed one run on five hits, walking none and striking out five. Jason Berken (S, 1) earned the save by pitching the final three innings scoreless and allowing just one hit.
