BANGOR, Maine — Personnel at Eastern Maine Medical Center were scheduled to undergo a drill Wednesday aimed at preparing staff for disaster responses, according to a statement on EMMC’s website.
The drill exercise was expected to start at 10 a.m. and wrap up by noon and will take place with city police, fire and ambulance personnel at the new Penobscot Pavilion.
Penobscot Pavilion is scheduled to open June 7. Most of Wednesday’s activity will be confined to that space.
The exercise will not affect patient care in any way, the statement said, and the purpose of the exercise is to assure hospital personnel and first responders are prepared for any type of scenario that may occur at the hospital.
