GREENBUSH, Maine — Officials are investigating a brush fire that burned about half an acre off the Greenfield Road on Thursday afternoon.
Greenbush Fire Chief Don Burr said it’s possible the property owner could be summoned for burning without a permit.
Crews from Greenbush, Milford and Passadumkeag were called to the scene around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, and the fire was quickly extinguished.
Fire danger was expected to remain high Friday with dry, warm weather conditions expected to remain statewide.
Burr said the public should be cautioned that if they are going to burn things, it should be done carefully and with a permit.
He was also thankful to his Greenbush firefighters and the mutual aid responders from Milford and Passadumkeag.
The Maine Forest Service is investigating the fire.
