SNOWSHOE LAKE, Maine — Maine wardens found a Yarmouth man Saturday morning after he spent the night in the area of a northern Penobscot County lake when he became separated from his party.

Mike Jones, 61, was fishing in a brook between Snowshoe Lake and Grand Lake Seboeis when friends called for help after Jones did not return Friday.

Wardens searched for Jones until 2:30 a.m. Saturday, resuming the search at 5:30 a.m. and finding him at a remote campsite. Wardens said Jones became disoriented Friday night, reached the lake’s shore and started a campfire, which kept him warm and helped wardens track him down.
