GORHAM, Maine — A report of an erratic vehicle on Route 25 Wednesday afternoon led to the seizure of heroin and the arrest of a Portland man, local police said.

Zik Danquah, 37, is facing a charge of unlawful trafficking in heroin, a Class B felony, along with violating his bail and operating under the influence, according to a statement from Gorham police.

The events leading to his arrest started around 1:15 p.m. when police learned Danquah’s Nissan was operating erratically along Route 25. The witness also reported the Nissan had driven into a ditch before pulling into oncoming traffic and then into a parking lot.

Police found Danquah’s vehicle had struck a parked car. Danquah was not hurt.

A search of his vehicle yielded 5.9 grams of heroin and $1,118 in cash, the statement said.

Danquah is being held at the Cumberland County Jail and is expected to face a judge Friday.
