PORTAGE, Maine — An Ashland man escaped injury early Saturday morning after his car went off Route 11 and struck a large group of trees, according to Maine State Police.
Robert Morrow, 25, was traveling north in his 2006 Chevrolet Malibu when he fell asleep at the wheel, according to a news release issued by Cpl. Chuck Michaud of Troop F.
The car went off the east side of Route 11, crashed through a utility pole wire and came to rest after striking a large group of trees.
The car was heavily damaged and had to be towed from the scene, according to the release.
