HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Harrisburg Senators got a walk-off walk for the second consecutive game, defeating the Portland Sea Dogs 5-4 in Eastern League baseball action Thursday at FNB Field.
Portland’s Isaac Ballou drew a four-pitch bases-loaded walk in the home ninth for the game-winning RBI. Simon Mercedes (2-3) issued four walks in the frame, including three in a row to end the game. On Wednesday night, Harrisburg had three straight walks to end game, including a four-pitch walk for the game-winner.
Harrisburg’s Koda Glover (1-0) worked around a lead-off single to Cole Sturgeon in the ninth inning to earn his first Double-A win.
Portland got off to a strong start, scoring two runs off starter Austen Williams in the first. Sean Coyle singled with one out and scored on a triple by Ryan Court. Nate Freiman added a sacrifice fly. With the game tied at two, Court tripled home Coyle in the third and tied the game in the sixth with a solo homer.
Ty Buttrey worked 4 2/3 innings on three hits, three earned runs, five walks and no strikeouts for Portland. Rob Wort pitched 2 ⅓ scoreless in relief with a strikeout.
