ROXBURY, Maine — Officers from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, Maine State Police, Mexico and Rumford police departments executed a search warrant Wednesday at a home in Roxbury for Jeremy Belskis.
Police said Belskis, 29, had been under investigation by the agencies for heroin trafficking in the River Valley area for some time.
As officers were proceeding to the residence to execute the search warrant, Belskis was recognized on the highway as a passenger in a motor vehicle
The vehicle was stopped, and Belskis was taken into custody without incident.
Police said the driver, Jarrod Chessie, 32, of Mexico, also was in possession of heroin and was arrested.
During the search of the suspects and residence, officers found $1,395, 2.4 grams of cocaine, 2.8 grams of heroin and 8.9 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms.
Chessie was charged with possession of heroin. He was released on bail.
Belskis was charged with trafficking schedule W drug (heroin). He was brought to the Oxford County Jail. Bail was set at $5,000 cash and he is confined.
