SKOWHEGAN, Maine — Four individuals are facing a charge of aggravated criminal mischief in connection with a vandalism spree in three towns in Somerset County, according to Sheriff Dale Lancaster.
Travis Brown, 39, of Madison was arrested, and Jacob Johnston, 20, Nathan Hubbard, 18, and a 17-year-old boy, all from Madison, were summoned, according to Lancaster.
The four were charged on Sunday in connection with a Saturday spree in Madison, Anson and Norridgewock.
Lancaster said sheriff’s deputies received more than 30 complaints on Saturday, from slashed tires to broken fences and smashed mailboxes. The damage was estimated to be between $3,000 and $4,000.
Evidence that was collected led Cpl. David Cole to a Preble Avenue residence in Madison, where all four individuals admitted to the damage, Lancaster said.
Aggravated criminal mischief is a Class C crime punishable by up to five years in prison. The case remains under investigation.
