FALMOUTH, Maine — Dive teams returned to the Presumpscot River in Falmouth this morning, searching for a missing kayaker.

Police say two boys under the age of 18 were in a two-person kayak when it flipped around 6:30 p.m. Thursday. One of the kayakers was wearing a life jacket and made it to shore safely. Police do not believe the missing kayaker was wearing any kind of flotation device.

Falmouth Police, the Warden Service, Maine Marine Patrol and the State Police Dive Team were all on the scene Thursday night.

The fire department is helping with the search as well. They searched for several hours under what they called difficult conditions. They will be back at first light this morning.

Police have not released the identities of the kayakers.
