BANGOR, Maine — A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with an assault in an area of the city known as “The Pines,” according to Bangor police.
Ashley Mcgeoghegan, 27, of Dexter and Christopher Goehringer, 33, of Bangor were arrested Friday and Saturday, respectively, in connection with the Memorial Day assault, Sgt. Tim Cotton said.
Police are seeking a third suspect, Troy Stevens, 39, whose last known address was Medford, in connection with the assault.
“The Pines” is a wooded area located between Interstate 95 and Indiana Avenue.
Cotton said Bangor police found a man who had suffered severe injuries on May 30 in a tent in the area.
The victim, whose name was not disclosed, was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center and remains there in serious condition, the sergeant said.
A subsequent investigation led to the two arrests.
Mcgeoghegan was charged with robbery and aggravated assault, both Class A felonies, and Goehringer was charged with aggravated assault.
Stevens also is wanted for aggravated assault, and police have obtained a warrant for his arrest. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call Bangor police at 947-7384 or email Detective Tim Shaw at tim.shaw@bangormaine.gov.
If convicted, all three suspects face up to 30 years in prison.
