MANCHESTER, Maine — One person died Tuesday afternoon following a collision on Route 202, according to the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash involved a Ford Explorer and a pickup truck, according to a statement issued by Chief Deputy William Johnson. Police did not disclose how many people were involved in the crash.

The crash occurred at 1 p.m. Tuesday, the statement said.

Extrication materials were used to remove the victims from the vehicles, according to the statement. The names of the victims, including the deceased victim, were not disclosed pending notification of family members.

Injuries to the other victims were not considered life-threatening. They were brought to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta.

The crash remains under investigation.
