MANCHESTER, Maine — A Mount Vernon woman was identified as the victim of a fatal crash on Route 202 Tuesday afternoon, according to the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.
Courtlyn Donato, 22, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, according to Kennebec County Sheriff Ryan Reardon.
Donato’s Ford Explorer collided with a pickup truck driven by Wayne Bartlett Jr., 36, of St. Albans, Reardon said.
Bartlett; his passenger, Robert Folsom, 55, of Cambridge; and a passenger in Donato’s vehicle, Steven Sirois, 23, of Manchester, suffered minor injuries and were brought to MaineGeneral Medical Center for evaluation, the sheriff said.
Police and firefighters from Augusta, Winthrop and Manchester assisted sheriff’s deputies at the scene. The Jaws of Life were used to free Donato from the wreckage.
Reardon said drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
