NORTH YARMOUTH, Maine — A man faces multiple charges after allegedly threatening to kill his 13-month-old son in a disturbance Sunday night, according to the Maine State Police.

James Goodenow, 40, has past issues with assault as he has assaulted his girlfriend, the boy’s mother, in the past, according to a statement from the state police.

Goodenow admitted to being frustrated with the infant, and the woman was terrified he was going to harm her or the child, the statement said.

When police tried to arrest him, Goodenow stated he was “not going to jail” and began fighting with officers, the statement said.

Goodenow was eventually taken into custody and booked on charges of domestic violence terrorizing, assault on an officer, failing to submit to arrest and criminal mischief.

Goodenow was booked into the Cumberland County Jail, where he remained Monday.
