WASHINGTON, Maine — A mobile home is considered a total loss following a fire Tuesday morning.
The fire on the Young’s Hill Road was reported shortly after 5 a.m., Chief Phil Meunier of the Washington Fire Department said.
Flames were shooting out of one spot in the roof of the older mobile home when the first crews arrived. The department — assisted by firefighters from Liberty, Somerville, Jefferson and Union — were able to put out the fire soon after, he said.
No one was injured.
The owner of the home had left the previous evening, the chief said. The mobile home was a seasonal residence. The chief said he did not know the owner’s name.
He said it appears that an electric heater that had been left on caused the fire.
