ELLSWORTH – Grace Elizabeth Shea, 83, died peacefully surrounded by her family June 16, 2016 at her home. She was born in North Whitefield, June 12, 1933 the daughter of Howard and Marion (Hatch) Sinclair.
She attended Hartland Academy. Grace married Philip Shea of Ellsworth, April 05, 1953. She was a member and treasurer of the Ellsworth Jaycees Chamber Maids, Irene Chapter #97 O.E.S. of Ellsworth, Wesso Club, MCMH Auxiliary, Hancock County Republican Party, Hancock County Women’s Republican Club, and was treasurer from 2008-2011, Heritage Policy Center, member of AARP, Woodlawn Museum, Ellsworth Historical Society, Y.M.C.A, all of Ellsworth. Grace enjoyed knitting and crocheting for family and friends as well as many organizations.
Grace was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by four children Gloria Read and husband David of Alton, Patrick Shea and wife Robin of Ellsworth and Detroit, Linda Shea-Alley and husband Marvin of Ellsworth, and Karen Arkin of Old Town; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and sister, Amelia Sinclair of W. Virginia. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip, August 2, 2010; son, Philip Shea, Jr.; two grandchildren Sidney Arkin and Isabella Shea; and six siblings Melvin, Robert, Leland, Laforest, Annie, and Muriel.
A graveside service for family and close friends will be held 11am, June 22, 2016 at Woodbine Cemetery with Pastor Robert Maddocks officiating.
