ORONO, Maine — A head-on collision on Forest Avenue about noon on Sunday injured several people, police said.
Few details were being released early Sunday afternoon but Orono police Officer Chris Gray said that the collision involved a minivan in which a family of five was riding and a pickup truck driven by a man who had no passengers on board at the time.
Two of the adults and two of the children involved were injured, though none of the injuries were considered life-threatening, he said. They were taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for treatment.
Names and ages were not immediately available.
Gray said that the crash might have been the result of a mechanical problem experienced by one of the vehicles. A reconstruction specialist was called to the scene near the Bible Baptist Church.
