Eric Dugas of Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield shot a 1-over-par 73 on Wednesday to finish tied for second in the 26th annual New England Interscholastic Boys and Girls Golf Championships held at Bretwood Golf Course in Keene, New Hampshire.

Dugas, a rising senior, was among four players to shoot 73, three strokes behind boys champion Mark Turner of St. John’s Prep of Danvers, Massachusetts, who finished at 2-under 70.

Dugas is the younger brother of Gavin Dugas, who won the 2015 New England interscholastic championship for MCI and recently completed his freshman season on the golf team at Southern New Hampshire University.

Logan Thompson of Mattanawcook Academy in Lincoln shot a 2-over 74 to finish in a five-way tie for sixth place at this year’s New Englands, while Cameron Cox of Mt. Ararat of Topsham and Dylan Burton of Messalonskee of Oakland each shot a 77 to finish in a four-way tie for 19th place.

Bailey Plourde of Lincoln Academy in Newcastle was the top Maine finisher in the girls field, shooting a 74 to earn a tie for fifth place.

Angela Garvin of Agawam, Massachusetts, won the girls division with a 71.

Erin Holmes of Greely of Cumberland Center shot a 77 to finish 10th among girls, while other participating Mainers were Lauren Shonewolf of Cape Elizabeth (80), Elizabeth Lacognata of Scarborough (82), Janelle Bryant of Saint Dominic of Auburn (84), Jordan LaPlume of Thornton Academy in Saco (91), Stephanie Rodrigue of Lewiston (97) and Markella Gammatoni of Saint Dominic (101).

Other Maine golfers in the boys field were Ryan Collins of Cape Elizabeth (78), Tyler Walker of Lake Region of Naples (81), Kyle Lamson of Mount Desert Island of Bar Harbor (81), Billy Rollins of Messalonskee (82) and Cole Daniel of Old Town, Ryan Dee of Houlton and Nick Mazurek of Oceanside of Rockland/Thomaston, all at 84.
