AUGUSTA, Maine — Augusta police say four people are in custody after an exchange of gunfire in the Wal-Mart parking lot Sunday evening.
Police said the altercation happened around 5:30 p.m. and no one was injured.
Investigators said in addition to the four people arrested, there is one woman involved who ran from the scene. K-9 units are being used in an attempt to locate her.
Police said all of the people involved in the altercation knew each other and the public is not in danger.
The Augusta Police Department later posted on its Facebook page that the suspects were in two vehicles in the parking lot when shots were exchanged.
Police said the case remains under investigation.
