EFFINGHAM, New Hampshire — Police in New Hampshire are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash in which a man from Maine died.
Police said the crash happened in Effingham around 7:30 p.m. Thursday on Route 25, near the intersection of Route 153.
Officers said it appears a car stopped suddenly, and the Maine man’s motorcycle hit the back of it.
Police said the car drove away.
Police said the car is a white four-door sedan with New York plates.
The driver of the white sedan was identified as a black female, medium build with glasses and a ponytail.
The motorcyclist, Jonathan Kauffman, 21, of Bridgton, was flown to a hospital, where he later died.
Police said there may have been an altercation between the two drivers before the crash.
