PORTLAND, Maine — An employee at an office building at 1321 Washington Ave. in Portland spotted a broken window when she arrived at work Sunday morning. Portland police responded with multiple units to investigate.

“There was a break-in on one of the offices in the back,” Portland police Officer Alissa Poisson said. “We were just clearing the building and making sure no one was still in there. We don’t really know anything further.”

The employee reported that offices were ransacked during the break-in but was unsure whether anything was taken.

“We’ll have the evidence technician come out and process the scene to see if anything was taken or any evidence was left behind,” Poisson said.

This is believed to be an isolated incident. Anyone with any information about the incident is urged to contact Portland police.
