BANGOR, Maine — A young woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on Route 137 in Knox, according to Maine State Police.
The crash near the Hilltop Store took place about 3:30 p.m., Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said Wednesday night in a news release.
The name of the victim is pending notification of relatives, he said.
According to McCausland, troopers said the woman’s car crossed the centerline on a slight curve and struck a pickup truck head on.
The woman died at the scene, he said. The pickup’s driver suffered minor injuries.
Route 137 was closed for several hours after the crash.
