WOOLWICH, Maine — A Maine State Police bomb squad was at the Woolwich town office early Thursday afternoon investigating a device found there Thursday morning.

“There’s some kind of device over there, and it may or may not be related to a fireworks event,” Chief Deputy Brett Strout of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office said at 1:10 p.m.

The town office closed shortly before 11 a.m., he said.
