FRIENDSHIP, Maine — A Harbor Road home was destroyed by fire on Friday.

No one was injured in the blaze, but a cat died, according to Friendship Fire Chief Kevin Benner.

Edna Simmons had just arrived back at her one-story home when the fire was reported shortly after noon, he said. The state fire marshal’s office was investigating the cause, the chief said.

Fire departments from Waldoboro, Cushing and Warren assisted Friendship in fighting the blaze.

The residence was insured, according to Benner.
