VAN BUREN, Maine — Van Buren police arrested a 29-year-old man who created a standoff Saturday with law enforcement officers.
The suspect, whose name was not immediately released, was charged with domestic violence assault, kidnapping, violation of conditions of release, criminal trespass, criminal threatening with a weapon, terrorizing and creating a police standoff, the Van Buren Police Department said in a Facebook post.
Van Buren police were assisted in apprehending the man by the Maine State Police and its Tactical Response Team, the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Border Patrol as well as the Van Buren Fire Department.
