CARIBOU, Maine — Much of Maine was seeing hot and humid weather throughout Friday, but some counties could get strong thunderstorms by the end of the day.

The National Weather Service’s Caribou forecast center has posted a severe thunderstorm watch for Aroostook, Penobscot and Piscataquis counties.

Severe storms are possible up until 9 p.m. Friday, according to the weather service.

The weather is expected to remain hot and humid throughout the weekend.
