SULLIVAN, Maine — A man from Surry was brought to a Bangor hospital Thursday after being pulled from the water at Sullivan Quarry on Quarry Road, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
By the time police arrived, bystanders pulled Jeremiah Moon, 26, out of the water, according to information posted on the police log by Hancock County Deputy Travis Frost.
CPR was being performed when first responders arrived at the scene shortly after 6 p.m., according to Frost.
Moon was brought Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth before being airlifted to Eastern Maine Medical Center, the deputy said.
A spokeswoman at EMMC said no information was available on Moon’s condition Friday afternoon.
The incident remains under investigation.
Sullivan firefighters and members of the Maine State Police, Maine Warden Service and County Ambulance assisted Hancock County sheriff’s deputies at the scene.
