ORRINGTON, Maine — The Scarborough all-star team advanced to the championship round with a 19-7 victory over Biddeford in the winners bracket at the Little League baseball state tourney for ages 11-12 Tuesday.
Scarborough improved to 3-0 in the double-elimination tourney and will play at 5:30 p.m. Friday against the winner of Thursday’s losers bracket game between Biddeford and Lewiston, also at 5:30 p.m.
A loss by Scarborough would force an if-necessary game at noon Saturday.
In Tuesday’s second game, Lewiston eliminated Medomak Valley of Waldoboro 9-3 to stay alive for Thursday’s contest.
Lewiston and Biddeford are both 2-1.
The tourney teams will have a rest day Wednesday.

The state champ advances to the East Regional Tournament Aug. 7-13 in Bristol, Connecticut.
