ROCKLAND, Maine — City police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man concerning a possible theft at a supermarket.

Rockland police issued a statement with photographs of the man taken about 12:30 p.m. Sunday by the surveillance cameras at the Hannaford supermarket on Maverick Street in Rockland.

Sgt. Donald Finnegan said police want to speak to him about a possible theft, but the sergeant declined to release any additional details until the person of interest is located.

The man arrived at the store with a woman who was older than him as well as with a man with blond hair who is younger, Finnegan said.

“If you’re him, why not come on down to the PD? We should chat,” police said in a statement posted on the department’s Facebook page. “If you recognize this male, please leave us a private message. If you don’t, please share this post.”

The department’s telephone number is 594-0316.
