RAYMOND, Maine — A Raymond man was arrested Tuesday and charged with sexaully assaulting two juvenile teens, at least one of whom he met online.

Anthony Shawn Pierson, 21, was charged with Class A felony gross sexual assault, according to a news release from Capt. Don Goulet of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives went to Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford on Tuesday afternoon after a girl reported that she met Pierson online and he took her to his home Tuesday afternoon, where she fell asleep and awoke to him “forcing himself on her,” according to the release.

Pierson also was charged with Class C felony unlawful sexual contact and misdemeanor allowing minors to consume alcohol in connection with a June incident reported at the time by another female juvenile.

Goulet declined Wednesday to release the ages of the alleged victims other than to say they were older than 13.

Pierson remained at Cumberland County Jail on Wednesday, held on $5,000 cash bail. He is scheduled for arraignment in Portland Unified Court on Friday.
