PORTLAND, Maine — A Twitter account has tweeted apparent threats directed at Portland Police.

The tweets are from the Twitter handle @BrownClown42. The apparent threats state there are explosives at the Cumberland County parking garage at 188 Newbury St.

The tweets also state they are “going to shoot police officers.” The account is using the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter.

Portland Police have only confirmed they are investigating a “situation” at the parking garage on Newbury Street.

Police Chief Mike Saushuck is expected to speak with media at Portland City Hall at 11:30 a.m.
