BRIDGTON, Maine — Efforts were scheduled to continue Thursday in the search for the body of a 19-year-old Hollis Center man in Long Lake.

Maine Warden Service and Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office divers were not successful in finding the man’s body in 40 feet of water Wednesday, Maine Warden Service Cpl. John MacDonald said.

MacDonald said a warden service aircraft will be used Thursday to aid in the search in addition to watercraft.

The man, whose name has not been disclosed, was a passenger in a rented pontoon boat, along with three adults, two teenagers and two toddlers. The families are from Maine and Texas.

Divers are focusing on water depths ranging from 30 to 50 feet, and MacDonald said visibility is poor.

The victim was riding at the front of the boat when he fell overboard and went beneath the boat. The man was not wearing a life jacket.

More information was expected to be released later Thursday.
