GRAY, Maine — The northbound lanes of Interstate 95 were shut down Monday morning because of a vehicle crash, officials reported.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said a vehicle crashed into paving equipment near the Gray exit, resulting in both lanes being blocked.

State police reported shortly after noon that one lane has reopened to traffic, but traffic around the area of the crash was expected to remain slow for the rest of the day.

The driver of the car, whose name was not disclosed, was seriously injured, McCausland said.
