Frenchville – Lucien Bouchard, 95, died peacefully at Ridgewood Estates, Aug. 8, 2016, with his family at his side. He was born in Frenchville, Maine, Oct. 24, 1920, the son of Joseph and Anna ‘Deschenes” Bouchard.
Upon High School graduation, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in West Harbor, Maine, worked at the Fafnir Bering Co. in New Britain, Conn. In 1944, he started farming in Frenchville, Fort Kent and Homestead, Florida; served on the Board of Directors for the Soil & Water Conservation District in Aroostook; had been a director of the Production Credit Association for many years; and vice president of St. Luce Catholic church parish council.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mariette “Bechard” Bouchard of Frenchville; two sons, John of Frenchville, Maine and Paul and his wife, Lakshmi of Fort Belvoir, Virginia; and one daughter, Anne and her husband, Jay Xu of North Potomac, Maryland; two grandchildren, Jean-Pierre and Sophie; one brother, Jean-Paul of Hooksett, N.H.; four sisters, Claire Martin of Elkhart, Indiana, Teresa Roy of Waterville, Maine, Irene Mc’Donald of Berlin, Conn. Lucille O’Donnell of Scarborough, Maine.
Friends and relatives may call at the Michaud Funeral Home in Frenchville, Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at St. Luce Catholic Church.
