HARRINGTON, Maine — A Mars Hill woman died late Tuesday night after crashing her Toyota sports car into a house in Harrington, a Maine State Police trooper said Thursday.

Lynda Foss, 48, was pronounced dead at the crash scene, located at 1233 Main St., Trooper Travis Chapman said.

Chapman said that the crash happened about 11 p.m. He said that Foss’ car struck the house’s porch and became lodged under it. No one else was injured, he said.

Speed is considered a factor in the crash, Chapman said. He said Foss was taken to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy. The results are pending drug and alcohol testing.

Foss, he said, was not wearing a seat belt.
