FALMOUTH, Maine — The ramp connecting Interstate 295 and the Falmouth Spur was shut down Thursday because of a tractor-trailer rollover, officials said.
Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said southbound traffic on I-295 was expected to remain slow for the rest of the afternoon.
Drivers seeking to use the turnpike should exit I-295 near the Portland Jetport to avoid the crash site.
Maine Department of Transportation spokesman Ted Talbot said shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday that the ramp was expected to be closed for about five to six additional hours.
The truck was hauling broccoli. Motorists are urged to avoid I-295 if possible to avoid lengthy delays.
