BRUNSWICK, Maine — Local police and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department are combining to participate in a sobriety checkpoint in Brunswick between Aug. 24 and 31, Brunswick police announced in a statement Wednesday.
The two agencies are conducting the checkpoint in an attempt to curb impaired driving with the support of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety, the statement said.
The exact times and locations of the checkpoint will be determined at a later date.
