PORTLAND, Maine — The Altoona Curve won the completion of a suspended game over Portland 2-1 on Thursday night, before the Sea Dogs answered with a 2-1 win in the regularly scheduled Eastern League game at Hadlock Field.
The suspended game was resumed with Altoona (68-55) leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning and Mauricio Dubon on second base. After a walk to Ryan Court, Cody Decker hit a sac fly to score Dubon and cut the Curve lead to 2-1.
The Sea Dogs (47-75) could muster no more runs against Miguel Rosario (3-1) or Montana DuRapau (23rd save), who combined to allow just two baserunners for the remainder of the game.
Teddy Stankiewicz (4-8) allowed two runs on a homer by Barrett Barnes in four innings before being lifted as a result of the game being suspended.
In the nightcap, Court delivered a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth off Cody Dickson (10-5) to provide the game-winning runs in the Sea Dogs’ victory.
Altoona plated the game’s first run in the second inning on an RBI double by Stetson Allie off of Kevin McAvoy (8-7) to score Anderson Feliz. McAvoy kept the Curve off the scoreboard for the remainder of the game to earn his second complete-game victory of the season with just five hits allowed in seven innings, walking three and striking out four.
Dickson recorded his first complete game of the season in the loss, allowing two runs on six hits in six innings while walking two and striking out four.
