STOCKTON SPRINGS, Maine — A Stockton Springs woman was arrested Sunday at a local motel on a meth trafficking charge.
Tiffanny Eastman, 27, of Stockton Springs came to police attention after a man at the Rocky Ridge Motel called 911 to report that he had been robbed, according to a news release from the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies Merl Read and Chris West went to the motel along with Officer James Kennedy of the Searsport Police Department.
Police spoke with the man, who told officers that two men tried to enter his room through a back window. The alleged robbers were unsuccessful, the man told police, and they fled from the scene. Police said they ultimately determined there had been no robbery or attempted forced entry at the motel.
They did, however, talk to Eastman and found that she allegedly had a plastic bag with approximately 66 grams of methamphetamine on her. Police also found several smaller containing various amounts of meth, according to the sheriff’s office.
Eastman was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, a Class B felony. She was taken to the Waldo County Correctional Center, where she is being held on $5,000 cash bail.
