FREEPORT, Maine — Police over the weekend were investigating a Friday morning robbery at the Intervale Mercantile Co.
A man entered Intervale Mercantile at about 8:40 a.m. Friday and made off with the owner’s wallet and several thousand dollars worth of merchandise, which he placed in a leather satchel before fleeing, according to a statement from Freeport police Chief Susan Nourse.
The robbery remained under investigation, Nourse said.
No further information about the robbery was available.
