YARMOUTH, Maine — A crash involving multiple vehicles tied up traffic on Interstate 295 for much of Monday’s morning commute.

Maine Department of Transportation spokesman Ted Talbot said the crash occurred in the southbound lane near exit 17.

Traffic was reduced to one lane for a significant amount of time but the scene cleared shortly after 10 a.m.

Traffic on the interstate was expected to remain slow in the area for much of Monday and drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

No significant injuries were reported.
