HAMPDEN, Maine — A local man reported missing Thursday has been found alive, according to Hampden police.
Charles Hamel, 72, is “OK and will be fine,” according to a post on Hampden police’s Facebook page.
Hamel had not been seen since 5:15 p.m. Thursday, but Hampden police reported Friday morning that Hamel was accounted for.
Hamel, who has dementia, apparently went into the woods off Western Avenue near the Hampden-Newburgh town line.
