WATERVILLE, Maine — Waterville police and the Maine State Police are investigating a body that was found floating Tuesday morning in the Kennebec River.
Deputy Chief William Bonney of the Waterville Police Department did not release any information about the possible identity but said the body was discovered about 8 a.m.
The body was recovered from the water with the assistance of Waterville firefighters, he said.
“We are currently working with the state police to investigate the circumstances,” Bonney said.
The state medical examiner also is involved in the investigation, Bonney said.
