BANGOR, Maine — An employee of the Glenburn School Department has been charged with possession of sexually explicit material, according to the Bangor police.
Michael King, 58, of Bangor was arrested Friday and taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
King is an ed tech III in Glenburn, according to a news release issued by Bangor police.
“There is no indication that any of Mr. King’s actions involved students from the Glenburn school system,” Detective Sgt. Brent Beaulieu said in the release. “The Glenburn School Department has cooperated in this investigation and has taken steps to assure the continued safety of their students.”
His arrest was the result of a joint investigation between the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, Maine Computer Crimes Unit and the Bangor Police Department.
King was released Friday morning on $2,000 cash bail, according to jail personnel.
If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.
