AMHERST, Maine — A 64-year-old Georgian died here early Sunday afternoon after he crashed his motorcycle into a guardrail while trying to pass another vehicle.
Steven Hodges of Covington, Georgia, was traveling east on Route 9 when he was thrown from his 2003 Honda Goldwing after striking the guardrail, according to Hancock County sheriff’s Deputy Travis Frost.
Hodges, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene, Frost said. The vehicle Hodges tried to pass was not involved in the accident, the deputy added.
